Needs more personalization
I really like MyFitnessPal overall. The barcode scanner is great, and I love being able to view my food by macros and by meal. However, the newer motivational pop-ups that interrupt you while logging are incredibly annoying and waste time. This wasn’t an issue before, and there’s no way to disable them. Users should absolutely have the option to turn this feature off. I dislike it enough that I’m seriously considering not renewing my Premium membership next year.

Ça reste une bonne application avec une grosse base d’aliments grâce à sa communauté. Par contre, je trouve dommage de devoir payer pour scanner un code-barres, alors que c’est justement ce qui permet d’entrer ses aliments rapidement. J’ai finalement trouvé une alternative qui propose cette fonction gratuitement. Du coup, je rentre mes repas ailleurs et j’utilise maintenant MyFitnessPal uniquement pour suivre mes macros. Stop selling my info
I have used this app often and on for several years. It’s a helpful app, many foods I thought were healthy are not. Lately they’re much more aggressive with pushing the paid version, and I am now getting spam texts and emails about the foods and medications I input on this app.

I currently pay for the subscription and it’s alright. I would love to see way more in terms of micro nutrition and better water tracking interface. I’d like to see more than just a few vitamins. The water could show me in cups or have a goal or show me visuals of the oz I put in each time I log it. The new user interface is clumsy. A star rating is one number. The text has the reasons.
Every tile is one review. First the tiles are coloured by stars. Then each one is recoloured by what its text says, and the tiles that change are the reviews a star average hides: four stars with a complaint inside, five stars typed over an angry paragraph. In our study of 1.1 million reviews only 26% of four-star reviews were plain praise.
After that the tiles sort themselves by what the review is for (praise, a bug report, a complaint about a product decision, a billing problem, a feature request), and the last view lights up what stands out for this app, biggest first: its most common complaints, surprise charges, blame for an update, people saying they are leaving, and reviews that are waiting for a reply. The category averages next to the charge and update counts come from the same study.

- How does the review analyzer work?
- It takes the 100 newest App Store reviews of the app you pick and sends the text of each one to Jev, a model from TypeSafe AI that answers fixed questions with a choice or a probability. Jev never sees the star rating, so the stars and the text can be compared.
- Is it free?
- Yes. Opening an analysis that already exists is always free. Each visitor can also send a few new apps to be analysed per day.
- How accurate are the labels?
- In a hand check of the surprise-charge label on the 1.1 million review study, about 9 in 10 flagged reviews were correct. Short or sarcastic reviews are the usual misses. 100 reviews is a small sample, so treat small differences as noise.

- The newest 100 reviews AppSigma has collected for the app across App Store storefronts, in any language.
