One Developer, Five Apps, One Search Page: Portfolio ASO

By Andrew · Published · Updated

TL;DR: TOYA TAP, a toddler-game developer with 29 apps, has apps in the US top 10 on 614 keywords, 799 slots in total. On one current search, 4 of the 10 results are its apps, and a July check of another search showed 5. Three of its apps share a subtitle word for word, while their icons and screenshots are all different. Its footprint is not growing: on the same 7,441 keyword and app pairs it held 226 top-10 slots in March and 235 in October. It is also not the biggest portfolio in its niche. Bimi Boo, with 24 apps, fills three or more slots on 140 toddler searches. TOYA TAP does that on 44.

We looked at TOYA TAP's 29 apps in the US App Store, led by app id 1176157709. For each app we read the current search positions on every keyword we track, plus the log of position changes from February 19 to October 19, 2026. We then compared the apps' names, subtitles, icons and screenshots. To see whether other developers do the same, we pulled the results for 6,000 popular keywords and for 1,298 toddler, preschool and kindergarten searches. All data is as of October 19, 2026.

Mock search results for "mario games for toddlers" on the US App Store as of October 6, 2026, with four of the top ten rows highlighted as TOYA TAP apps

One search page, four apps from one developer

TOYA TAP lists 29 apps. 16 are free and 13 are paid versions priced from $4.99 to $79.99. The free ones carry almost all of the ratings, 134,780 across the developer.

On the search "mario games for toddlers" the developer held places 2, 4, 5 and 6 at our October 6 check. Nintendo's own app is first, with 279 ratings. The other four results come from four other developers. None of TOYA TAP's names mention Mario. Its apps match on "toddler" and "games".

The widest page we found is older. At our July 7 check, the search "educational puzzle game for toddlers" showed five TOYA TAP apps. The top result there was a Bimi Boo app with 538,476 ratings, 19 times more than the best-rated TOYA TAP app on the page.

Other searches show the same pattern:

Search Apps in top 10 Places Last recorded
mario games for toddlers 4 2, 4, 5, 6 Oct 6
educational puzzle game for toddlers 5 2, 4, 5, 6, 10 Jul 7
toddler games for 3 year olds learning 4 2, 4, 6, 10 Jun 9
number games for toddlers alternative 4 1, 2, 7, 8 Sep 19
geometry games for toddlers 4 3, 4, 6, 8 Sep 18

The places are the last value we recorded for each keyword, dated in the last column. A place is saved only when it changes, so one that has stayed put since early summer is still shown.

614 keywords, but most have a single TOYA TAP app

Bar charts of TOYA TAP top-10 results on 614 keywords: 485 keywords with one app, 84 with two, 35 with three, 9 with four and 1 with five, plus slots by app and a comparison of March 10 and October 19

We kept keywords with a popularity score of 35 or higher that share words with TOYA TAP's listings and are not flagged as junk. On those keywords, TOYA TAP apps hold 799 top-10 slots across 614 keywords:

Apps in the top 10 Keywords
1 485
2 84
3 35
4 9
5 1

So 79% of the keywords have a single TOYA TAP app, and 45 keywords have three or more. 248 of the 799 slots are in positions 1 to 3. Two apps carry the most weight. The "2 3 year" app holds 181 slots and the "2+ years" app holds 164. The paid "Full" versions hold 6 slots or fewer each.

The apps share words, not artwork

Text is where the apps overlap. Three of them share one subtitle, and two more use near-identical subtitles that differ by an ampersand. The names follow one template with only the age phrase swapped:

App id Age phrase in the name Subtitle shared with
1176157709 2+ years 2 apps
1176162006 2 3 year 2 apps
1171350534 2-5 year 2 apps
1264615734 +3 year olds none
1176160530 Match games 1 app, ampersand aside
1387404989 Shape games the matching game

The words "toddler", "games", "kids" and "year" appear in almost every name, which is why one search matches so many of them. The age phrases add numbers such as "2 3" and "2-5" that a parent might type.

The visuals tell a different story. Each app has its own icon character: a girl with headphones, an owl, a "1-2-3 GO+" logo, a starfish, a bear in a hat, a girl with a crown. They share a red border, and five of the six carry a small red badge in the corner, so the family is recognizable. The first screenshots differ too. Two apps open with a "Numbers & Counting" screen, but one shows watermelons and the other apples. The rest show seasons, shapes and colors, and a 24-game mix.

Names, subtitles and icons did not move. Three apps have three or more captures between September 2025 and October 2026 (8, 10 and 3 captures). Each shows one name, one subtitle and one icon. Most of the portfolio was released between 2016 and 2020, and its search text has been left alone since.

Its footprint did not grow in 2026

We have no daily copy of the search pages. What we have is a log that stores each position change. That log lets us read the position of a keyword and app pair on a past date only if the pair had changed before it, or never changed. On March 10 that gives us 7,441 such pairs. They held 226 top-10 slots then. On October 19 the same pairs held 235.

That is a 4% rise, which we read as flat. A further 564 of the current 799 slots belong to pairs we cannot see in March, so this is not a full answer. It does tell us that the part of the footprint we can follow did not grow. Rankings of this kind also move a lot. In our study of 2,760 top-10 results, only 44.5% of results stayed in place across five months.

Between October 1 and October 19 the change log shows the "2+ years" app dropping out of the top 10 on 59 keywords and the matching game on 45. In the same window the "2 3 year" app entered it on 35. Weight moves between the siblings, not only against rivals.

Toddler searches are shared more often than the rest of the store

Table of five toddler app developers: Bimi Boo, TOYA TAP, KidloLand, Kids Academy and 22Learn, with the number of searches where they hold one, three or five or more of the top 10 results

To see whether TOYA TAP is unusual, we counted apps per developer in the top 10 of 1,298 US toddler, preschool and kindergarten searches with popularity 35 or higher:

Developer Apps Searches with any app With 3+ apps With 5+ apps Peak
Bimi Boo 24 573 140 21 7
TOYA TAP 29 361 44 1 5
KidloLand 140 339 29 0 4
Kids Academy 82 244 28 7 7
22Learn 51 341 14 0 4

Searches that name the developer's own brand are left out of that developer's counts. Bimi Boo has fewer apps than TOYA TAP and 35 times its ratings (4.75 million against 134,780), and it shows up in 44% of the toddler searches. On 21 of them it fills five or more of the ten places.

One in four toddler searches (27%) has a developer with three or more results in the top 10. In the 6,000 most popular keywords of the whole store, the share is 15.6%. The two sets use different popularity bands, so treat the gap as a direction. Toddler searches are crowded with near-copies, and developers use that. Our toddler niche study found the same from the other side: 83% of the top-10 places went to developers with two or more apps in the results.

Elsewhere on the store, local TV groups and slot makers do it

For the store-wide view we took the 6,000 most popular non-junk keywords and kept the 2,815 whose top 10 has at least five different developers and whose results match the keyword, and dropped searches that carry the developer's own name. In 439 of them (15.6%) one developer holds three or more places. In 58 (2.1%) it holds five or more.

Developer Portfolio Searches with 3+ apps Peak
Gray Television Group Local TV stations 150 6
Cox Media Group Local news and radio 29 4
Disney Local ABC station and news apps 18 5
Sinclair Broadcast Group Local news and weather 17 5
Tegna Storm and weather apps 15 4
Product Madness Casino slot apps 15 4
Phantom EFX Casino slot apps 13 5
Aviagames Real-cash casual games 13 4

These share only the count with TOYA TAP. A TV group's apps answer different searches, for example the names of different stations, and they overlap only when a keyword such as "weather" fits many of them. TOYA TAP's apps all answer the same searches. One portfolio covers many places, the other fills one place.

What to take from it

  1. Several apps on one search come from the names. TOYA TAP changes only the age phrase and keeps the rest of the template, so every sibling matches the same searches.
  2. It works best on long-tail phrases. 79% of its keywords have one app, and the five-app page is a single search out of 614.
  3. Rating count still decides position 1. On the July five-app page, the top result has 538,476 ratings and the best TOYA TAP app has 28,984.
  4. Weight moves between siblings. In 18 days one sibling entered the top 10 on 35 keywords while two others left it on 45 and 59.
  5. A bigger portfolio does not mean more reach. Bimi Boo has 24 apps and wins more searches than TOYA TAP with 29.

Apple's App Review Guideline 4.3 covers spam and duplicate apps. We do not judge any developer against it. We describe what the search data shows. For the sibling effect from the other side, a single app that climbed on a hidden keyword field, see the Keiki case study. For how to read a competitor's page tests, see our look at Duolingo's listing. AppSigma tracks keyword positions for your apps and rival apps, which shows you where your own apps meet on one search page.

Method notes: US storefront, positions as saved in AppSigma on October 19, 2026, which is the last recorded value for each keyword. The log keeps a position when it changes and not a daily copy. About 218 pairs had a last logged place in the top 10 but are gone from the current table. We counted those as unranked on October 19. We cannot date when they dropped out, so we show no month-by-month totals. Keyword filter: popularity 35 or higher, no junk flag, and at least one word from the apps' listings, which removes person names and nonsense terms. The store-wide view also needed four of the top 10 apps to match the keyword in name or subtitle. Toddler searches contain "toddler", "preschool" or "kindergarten". Ratings are US ratings. Screenshots come from each app's latest captured listing.

Frequently asked questions

How many apps does TOYA TAP have in the App Store top 10?

It ranks on 614 relevant keywords, 799 slots in all. Three or more of its apps rank together on 45 keywords. The most on one page at our checks is five.

Is it allowed to publish several similar apps on the App Store?

Apple allows many apps per developer. Its rule on spam and duplicate apps is guideline 4.3, and App Review decides how it applies. Our data only shows how often sibling apps share a results page.

Does a portfolio of similar apps rank better than one app?

Not on this evidence. TOYA TAP held about the same number of top-10 slots in October as in March on the pairs we could follow. Bimi Boo has fewer apps and far more ratings, and it appears on more toddler searches.
